Faith & Prayer

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness
and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

This month of December in the Catholic Church is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary :

O Most Holy Virgin, immaculate in body
and spirit, look kindly on me as I implore
your powerful intercession. O most Holy
Mother, receive my prayers as I present them
to God. O Mary, Mother of Jesus and our
Mother, you intercede for us with your Son.
O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us
who have recourse to thee.
Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception,
pray for us.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.
Our Lady Queen of Christendom, pray for us.
Amen

Pope’s intention for December:

For pilgrims of hope
We pray that this Jubilee Year strengthen our faith, helping us to recognize the Risen Christ in our daily lives, and that it may transform us into pilgrims of Christian hope.

LET US REFLECT!

Hearing the word of God with reverence and proclaiming it with faith, the sacred synod takes its direction from these words of St. John: “We announce to you the eternal life which dwelt with the Father and was made visible to us. What we have seen and heard we announce to you, so that you may have fellowship with us and our common fellowship be with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:2-3). Therefore, following in the footsteps of the Council of Trent and of the First Vatican Council, this present council wishes to set forth authentic doctrine on divine revelation and how it is handed on, so that by hearing the message of salvation the whole world may believe, by believing it may hope, and by hoping it may love.

PRAYER FOR THE SPREAD OF PERPETUAL ADORATION

Heavenly Father, increase our faith in the Real Presence of Your Son Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.
We are obliged to adore Him, to give Him thanks and to make reparation for sins.
We need your peace in our hearts and among nations.
We need conversion from our sins and the mercy of Your forgiveness.
May we obtain this through prayer and our union with the Eucharistic Lord.
Please send down the Holy Spirit upon all peoples to give them the love, courage, strength and willingness to respond to the invitation to Eucharistic Adoration.
We beseech You to spread Perpetual Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament in parishes around the world.
We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen

Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament
Help us to spread the glory of Your Son through Perpetual Adoration.

Amen

Dear brothers,

In 2005 at the publication of the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Pope Benedict wrote in his introduction “Forty years after the close of the Second Vatican Council and in the year of the Eucharist, this Compendium represents an additional resource for satisfying the hunger for truth among the Christian faithful of all ages and conditions, as well as the hunger for truth and justice among those who are without faith.” Remembering this important moment in which the Church wanted to teach us about the import truths we hold on to, we will begin our catechesis on the Eucharist taking advantage of this year on the Revival of the Eucharist, and our desire for our faithful to deepen in this eternal Sacrament Christ left us.

The passage we are talking about gives an overview of the significance of the Eucharist in the Catholic Church, particularly in relation to the publication of the Compendium on the solemnity of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. It emphasizes the importance of truth and justice among believers and non-believers alike.  It also highlighted the missionary zeal of the apostles and encourages followers to imitate their commitment to spreading the faith. Saying that, we will publish little by little some parts of the Catechism and give a brief explanation of. I hope you can accompany us reading and meditating on the Sacraments, so that we may have an encounter with Christ and evangelize as the apostles did.
